Touch Museums
Interactive displays are increasingly becoming part of any modern museum experience.
We were commissioned to conceptually design, develop, test and deploy a highly visual interactive touchscreen software solution for a museum in Dublin. The resulting solution was also required to reflect the character and look-and-feel of the museum as a whole.
Through consultation and collaborative concept design, we built a solution that catered to all age-groups. We highlighted interesting articles in the museum and provided additional information not accompanying the physical articles on display. Moreover, through our software, each room in the museum could be visited and specific articles from the room selected. A “favourites” section, history of the surrounding area and several other features like slideshows gave visitors an immersive experience.

What We Do
We develop touchscreen solutions that can be used to provide information and deliver services in a self-help, user-friendly manner in various situations. These services can be provided using a variety of hardware options such as wall-mounted, free-standing, thru-glass, desktop, mobile or other touchscreens.
In the past, we have developed solutions for the health, banking, education, consumer and enterprise sectors, to name just a few. We excel at implementing solutions that cater to both indoor and outdoor environments. We have also developed robust solutions for the differently-abled. Multiple language solutions are also a speciality of ours.
Touch Virtual Receptionist
Increasingly, self-help reception services are taking over the reception helpdesk, often leading to considerable savings.
The Smart Administrative Module, SAM, is our latest product and was commissioned by University College Dublin, a large university with 25,000 students in Ireland. SAM is an interactive Virtual Receptionist System that performs the duties previously performed by a full time paid employee. SAM can be placed in a lobby or reception area and can be customised to provide information that a receptionist would typically provide. Using video recordings integrated with touchscreen functionality, SAM delivers useful information in a user friendly and intuitive manner, guiding and facilitating visitors to make choices and decisions.
Currently placed in 17 locations across campus, some of its main features are listed below:
SAM welcomes visitors to the building.
SAM can dispense information in several languages - Irish, English, Chinese, etc.
SAM provides a list of all the people in the building with their contact details (image of the person, phone number, floor location, etc.) – This list can be integrated with existing client databases for automatic updates on a daily basis.
Specifically, for Courier/Delivery Services, SAM provides an additional list of each person’s colleagues that can be contacted for assistance if the primary contact person is unavailable.
SAM displays the building floor plans with room locations and services (toilets, cafeteria, meeting rooms, etc.)
SAM can shut down at nighttime to save energy and restart at a specific time in the morning.

Touch Wayfinding
Self-help wayfinding system can get complicated quiet quickly, as public spaces such as shopping centres can have complex layouts.
For this project, we developed a dedicated stand-alone way finding system that combined intuitive visualisations of directions and associated paths, with easy-to-search menus that led to visitors efficiently locating their destination.
Special focus on the search functionality gave the shooper multiple ways to quickly and efficiently find the shops and facilities they were looking for along with the quickest way to get there.

Touch Sign-In
Automated sign-in systems are increasingly being deployed in multi-tenant office buildings and organisations with busy receptions desks.
We developed a stand-alone, state-of-the-art sign-in system that cleverly used recorded video to welcome guests to the building, provide basic interactions to navigate the system and show a list with contact details of the people within the building. A phone was also integrated into the system so the visitors could directly inform their contact of their arrival. The visitors could then sign-in through the system while they waited for their contact to arrive, eliminating the need for a receptionist at the site.

Touch Banking
More and more banks are now deploying touchscreen solutions such as tablet-kiosks in their branches for customer self-service.
To make these solutions engaging and intuitive, customised touch-friendly design and development is required. As part of this project, we developed a touch-friendly tablet interface that could be used to provide self-help services onsite. The interface maintained the bank’s branding while directing visitors to specific areas of the banks website. A log also measured usage stats.

Touch Shopping
Touchscreen kiosks are now an integral part of any shopping centre experience as they can server several important functions.
We were commissioned to develop a complete software solution for a large and complex shopping centre based in Dublin. The touch-based solution, implemented on large portrait 55” full-HD screens across the centre, catered to everything from complex wayfinding over several floors and across several buildings, transport details to-and-from the shopping centre to shop details with associated information and special offers. Facilities to check your gift card balance along with wheel chair accessibility features which flipped the layout, enhanced the shopping experience for all visitors.

Touch Outdoors
As hardware becomes more robust and resilient, outdoor way-finding systems are increasingly being deployed.
We have developed expertise in sourcing hardware and developing software that can be used to provide directions in outdoor settings such as nature walks, universities and technology parks with large, open complexes, etc. For a recent project, we overlaid google maps with specific information provided by our client to highlight various landmarks, important buildings and other areas of interest with a view to providing easy-to-use self-help navigation facilities at various locations around campus.

Touch Health
Touchscreen applications are increasingly being used in the health sector.
We were commissioned by the psychology department of a leading university to develop, test and deploy a mobile, touch-friendly, interactive game for the early detection of autism. The game, based on key research findings in autism, was aimed at young adults and was developed for mobile tablets.
